ZOOMA women's race series and EMC team up - run with us!
Whenever any of us run for Every Mother Counts, we run so other women around the world don’t have to. Distance is one of the biggest barriers to maternal care for women in the developing world—and we hope that with every mile we run for EMC, that is one less mile a pregnant woman needs to travel to get the care she needs to deliver her baby. Today, we’ve got even more reasons for you to join the team and run with us. A month ago we met Brae Blackley, corporate attorney turned mother, runner, and Executive Director of ZOOMA Women’s Race Series. ZOOMA is a national series of boutique women’s 5K/10Ks and marathons at awesome resorts in locations like Amelia Island in Florida, Cape Cod, and Austin. These races come complete with recovery yoga, wine and cocktails, post-race massages, and shopping—the perfect recipe for a fit and pampering girls weekend. Now seriously…doesn’t that sound amazing?
We think so too. We’re ZOOMA’s national charity partner for 2013, so now all of ZOOMA’s runners will be able to join us in making pregnancy and childbirth safe for all moms. ZOOMA runners can download Charity Miles and raise 25¢ per mile for EMC each time they run during their training. They can become an EMC fundraiser and receive some sweet thank-you gifts, ranging from an invite to a screening of No Woman, No Cry the night before their race to a free hoodie from EMC’s official running apparel collection by Oiselle. So what are you waiting for? Go to zoomarun.com to learn more and sign up. Every mile counts!
