Today’s Every Story Counts writing prompt is something most parents might not think about every day, but imagine how powerful it would be if you did. How would you be a better parent?

Today is World Water Day, an international event held every March 22nd to draw attention to the global water crisis and to celebrate how far we’ve come in making sure everybody has access to clean water. In honor of World Water Day, we would like to bring your attention to an older post, published on our site in October.

We’re excited to introduce our next Global Birth Club member. Cheneffer came to us through Jennie Joseph, (our dear friend and frequent blog contributor) who runs Commonsense Childbirth and The Birth Place in Florida. Cheneffer is one of her patients. Thanks for welcoming Erin and Marie-Anje earlier this week and watch for new members who will be joining us from Uganda, Indonesia and Honduras next week.

We have a stack of books on our bedside tables that we can’t wait to share with you. Since our theme this month is, “Every Story Counts,” we’re thinking of this as our spring book club. Each one of the books listed below amplifies our respect for the women who wrote them and the stories they tell. Check these out as soon as possible. Then, email us and let us know which ones resonated for you.

A couple weeks ago, Christy introduced an article in the Huffington Post entitled, Reproductive Competition; The Politics of Pregnancy, which discussed the way Americans deal with miscarriage. Today, we’re asking the next question in our Every Story Counts series: Have you miscarried and who supported you through it? We asked Jessica Zucker, PhD, a clinical psychologist who specializes in women's reproductive and maternal mental health to share her thoughts on a subject that affects women all over the world.

Yesterday, Christy and I got to go to the White House to attend a special celebration of Women's History Month hosted by the President and First Lady. We've not been there so many times that it loses any excitement. Not even the long line out in the rain could dampen spirits. We found ourselves amongst women from all sorts of backgrounds- fellow NGO leaders, politicians, entrepreneurs, journalists and even some local high school students.

We announced our Global Birth Club today and asked each of our club members a few questions about how they felt during their first trimester. Now, we're asking you to describe how you felt during those first few months.
