Go-MCH is focused on developing scientifically based intervention programs that can show a marked change in improving the survival rates of women, infants and children. Pilot programs and outreach through Scientific Advisory members in the field are being developed to meet the specific needs of the community and the culture. Survival pilot programs are focusing on improving the capacity of maternity hospitals and neonatal intensive care units in Nigeria along with improving the ability for women and children to reach improved facilities and trust they are receiving the care they deserve. Our Scientific Advisory Board consists of members in the field working tirelessly in connect with local partners, specifying the needs of their community for the most effective intervention possible. Go-MCH believes survival of infants, women, and children include (1) access to health-care, clean water, nutritious foods, and (2) education that empowers women and bolsters the family's livelihood and ultimately (3) sustained community growth and development.
