Every Mother Counts was launched in 2010 as an advocacy campaign after the release of NO WOMAN, NO CRY, a documentary film which examines the challenges and solutions impacting maternal health outcomes in Tanzania, Bangladesh, Guatemala and the United States.

Soon after, Every Mother Counts established a grant portfolio to invest in programs that address three critical barriers that make pregnancy and childbirth unsafe: a lack of transportation, insufficient education and training of healthcare providers, and a shortage of equipment and supplies.

Our films highlight the positive impact of our community and the impact of the grassroots community-led initiatives we invest in.
