You’re about to deliver your baby and you have no ride
to the hospital.
So you walk for 20 miles.
You arrive there only to find there’s no electricity.
No clean running water.
No trained healthcare provider.
None of the basic necessities that an expectant
mother relies on during labor.
This might seem incomprehensible to most of us – but for the
more than 300,000 women that die each year during pregnancy
and childbirth, it represents the crude reality of facing motherhood.
The losses are heartbreaking.
But more than that, almost all of them are preventable.
So let this Orange Rose stand as a symbol of what we can
accomplish together. An everlasting bloom that represents a
cycle that ends in life, not death. A banner for us to rally behind
as we make a difference in thousands of lives.
Join Every Mother Counts on our mission to help make pregnancy
and childbirth safe for every mother, everywhere.
